Currency exchange improvements have led to more Brits investing in property in the US.
That is according to Deane Roe from foreign currency exchange company Moneycorp, who has claimed there has been a 23 per cent rise in the number of Brits purchasing property in the US in the last six months.
"This increase directly correlates with the pound’s improved performance against the dollar, with a noticeable pickup in clients buying US dollars once the rate moved above the 1.50 level," he said.
The latest Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller Home Prices Indices from earlier this week showed that property prices in the US increased by more than three per cent in the third quarter of 2009.
The news could potentially be beneficial to Brits looking to invest in properties in the US.
Retirees who continue to have their first home in the UK could find that an equity release plan could help them afford a holiday home in the US for them to visit.
