A large number of pensioners are unaware of new changes to ISA limits for the over-50s.
That is according to the Post Office, which has found that 62 per cent of people in this age group do not know about the new ISA changes.
Richard Normal, director of savings at the Post Office, said: "With less than one in ten of over-50s knowing the new limits, £10,200 total ISA contributions, £5,100 cash ISA contributions, it is vital that savers are made aware and make the most of this increase.
"At a time when savers are struggling more than ever, it is important they ensure their money is working as hard as possible for them by taking advantage of their tax free allowances."
For people who are really looking to boost their finances as they approach retirement, equity release could help.
