Bill Giles - "Why I'm proud to promote Key"

Two years ago I released cash from my home with the help of Key. Two years on, I have no regrets, and I’m now a proud ambassador for both equity release and Key.

With so many people struggling to make ends meet in retirement, it makes perfect sense to me to make the most of your assets by releasing the cash in your home. As part of my support for Key, I was delighted when they invited me to appear in their new TV advert, particularly when they offered to fly me to Spain to avoid the cold, wet UK weather!

You might think that filming in subtropical locations is exciting, and to a certain extent it is, but it is also very hard work. A lot of the joy of filming depends on all the crew, behind and in front of the camera, getting on well together, and this was certainly the case this time.

At first light, before breakfast, we were up and taken to a most magnificent golf course where I was introduced to my TV family; a wife, daughter and two grandchildren. This, for an actor, is quite normal but for a weatherman, was very strange.

After the golf we were all moved to a villa up in the hills to show that with equity release you can enjoy life to the full with all your family. Finally we headed to the beach. It was a perfect setting with clear blue skies and soft sand, and there was me dressed in a suit and tie whilst all the holidaymakers wore no more than swimsuits!
