Renowned for leading the country to victory through World War II, Winston Churchill will always be remembered for his refusal to give in and his rousing speeches. When he died in 1965, Churchill was given a state funeral, in respect of his position as an iconic leader.
Radio 4 have produced an audio CD recalling this event, marking the nation’s farewell to a great statesman. Filled with tributes and moving commentary, the CD recollects the thoughts and feelings of the wartime generation.
