At Key we always put our customers first. With 98 per cent of our customers saying they would recommend us to family and friends*, we thought we’d pick just a few of our happy customers to let you read about the type of plan they chose, what they did with the cash released and how the money changed their lives.
Bill Giles OBE, released cash from his home and was so happy with our service, he became a proud ambassador for both equity release and Key.

“Now we can afford to treat the family.”
Mr & Mrs Taylor, aged 60 and 62, released cash to help relieve their financial pressures but also to give their children a helping hand during the tough economic climate.
“We gave money to our daughters so that they could make some home improvements. We also took all the grandchildren on holiday to Cornwall last summer.
“Equity release has lifted a weight from our shoulders and we now have the freedom to spend money on the grandchildren whenever we like, Christmas last year was no exception!”
“We’ve finally added our conservatory”
Mr & Mrs Arnold always dreamed of having a conservatory of their own. “We’d wanted to add a conservatory to our house before, but we just couldn’t afford it. All our children and grandchildren live very close by, and we really struggled for space when they all came to visit. Equity release was the perfect solution for us. After all, we’ve paid so much into our house, it seemed pointless not to use that money.
“Our new conservatory is more like an extension, with so much more room. It’s fully heated and we spend a lot of time in there as a family. It also means we can sit and enjoy the garden in the colder months.”
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold were able to spend money on improving the garden too. “We’ve added decking and arches, and it’s looking great. In fact, our daughter got married in the garden just last year. We’re now planning to create a jungle garden, so the conservatory is housing lots of tropical plants until its warm enough for them to go outside.”
“We helped our granddaughter make the most of her travels.”
Mr & Mrs Hayes have eight grandchildren and wanted to give their family money now, whilst they could watch them benefit from it.
Mr Hayes said: “Our granddaughter, Georgia, is at Durham University studying Modern Languages. She has to travel a lot with her course. I can’t keep up with her! She’s in Spain at the moment, but all these trips cost a lot, so we wanted to help her out.”
Georgia emailed Key’s intouch magazine to tell us how equity release is helping her: “I’ve been able to seize every opportunity that came my way and really make the most of my time abroad! It’s all due to the generosity of my grandparents. I’ll look back with cherished memories and be eternally grateful to them for making my time abroad amazing.”
Mr. and Mrs. Hayes are delighted to be able to help: “Travelling is a big part of Georgia’s studies, so we’re pleased we can help with the costs. Equity release has been a good solution all round, since we’ve benefited too.
“I celebrated my 90th birthday this year and took a trip to South Africa. Two of the grandchildren even flew out as a surprise to join us which was wonderful.”
